Studio 11 Dance Collective Limited

Dhoom Proudly Sponsors £750 to support Local Dance Team on Their Journey to the ‘Olympics of Dance’!

Studio 11 Dance Collective Limited is a newly established dance school based in Dunfermline. The business owners are Taylor Breen and Jessica O’Neil. They provide classes in a variety of dance styles in a fun and inclusive environment helping local children develop their physical fitness, creativity, and self-expression as well as building confidence, resilience, and team skills.

Studio 11 has a team of competitive dancers who have achieved success recently at a large National competition in Blackpool (as reported by the Dunfermline Press) with dancers gaining numerous National Champion titles.

Building on this achievement the studio has now been successful in qualifying for the Dance World Cup in Prague in June this year with a small group of 5 dancers who will perform individually, in duos and as a collective.

This is an amazing achievement for the studio in its infancy to be able to represent Scotland. For the individual dancers, this is a huge achievement having been selected from dancers from all over Scotland to represent their country. Attending this event will provide them with the most memorable dance and life experience representing their country and competing with 8000 dancers from 54 countries at the biggest most prestigious dance event in the world affectionately known as the ‘Olympics of dance’.

Carnegie Dojo

Our partnership with Carnegie Dojo has been nothing short of amazing. Together, we’ve opened doors for students to pursue their dreams, and this collaboration continues to be a resounding success. Carnegie Dojo is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, Scottish Charity number: SC039618.

Karate has always been an extremely expensive sport with costs involved in buying Karate suits, martial arts licenses, membership fees, training fees, grading fees etc etc.

A typical student who perhaps graded three times a year would expect to have to pay approximately £500 per year for the costs shown above. This put the sport out with the reach for the majority of people in Dunfermline and the officers felt that something had to be done to reach those children and in fact their parents or carers who wanted to try an exciting and demanding sport hence the formation of the Karate Initiative.

In collaboration with Carnegie Dojo Dhoom – Indian Streatery, we have hosted multiple heartwarming charity curry nights in partnership with Carnegie Dojo from time to time.

On the 14th of March. The evening was a delightful blend of warmth and generosity.

With every ticket sold contributing £6, we successfully raised funds to send three of our talented students to Switzerland on the 1st of April. It was a truly unforgettable experience, and our hearts overflow with gratitude for the overwhelming support we received.

The event also featured an extraordinary raffle, made possible by the incredible contributions from our community. Generous donations, including bottles of plonk and cherished Christmas presents, highlighted the exceptional kindness of our supporters.

On the 29th of December 2021 and the 25th of September 2019, Dhoom – Indian Streatery and Carnegie Dojo came together. Our joint efforts included organizing a Charity Curry Night at the restaurant, where we raised funds for a noble cause. As a team collectively Carnegie Dojo and Dhoom have managed to raise £6000 together

This achievement is a testament to the collaborative spirit of our wonderful community.

Peacocks in Pittencrieff Park

In the spirit of giving back to the community, Dhoom- Indian Streatery has continued to support charitable causes, including Peacocks in Pittencrieff Park.

Peacock in Pittencrieff Park is managed by a community group of self-funded Volunteers. The great team gives up their time to feed, clean, care, and raise funds for the Peacocks. The volunteer support team has a diverse range of backgrounds and skills. The senior volunteers ensure a care plan is in place for each of the Peacocks.

It is their mission to ensure the Legacy of the Peacocks of Pittencrieff Park is sustained.

Dhoom has initiated multiple fundraising activities in the restaurant to support this wonderful cause of the community. In the two fundraising activities in March, June, and July we managed to raise £1000 and £2000 respectively. This small contribution of £3000 in total this year from our family, recognizes the significance of preserving heritage and supporting local attractions.

Peacocks in Pittencrieff Park continue to hold a special place in our hearts. It brings joy to countless families, and we are honored to help them during their challenging times. The support from the community has been heartwarming, and we will continue to stand with Peacocks and our local community in the future.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of these initiatives, making a positive impact and encouraging a sense of togetherness in our community. Your support and generosity are deeply appreciated.
